Reverse Landfill Noise v8 – DIY Build

Reverse Landfill Noise (v8) - DIY Build

As many of you know, Reverse Landfill is one of our favorite manufacturers. Their gritty and raw approach to synthesis brings a whole new level to making modular music or just harsh noise. Through several iterations, the NOISE module has become a staple in Martijn’s lineup.

Most recently, the v9 was released but our focus is on the Noise v8. A kindred spirit to our original Noise module which was one of our very first modules.

According to RL, the Noise! Synthesizer is a “CMOS IC based instrument. The synth has 4 square wave oscillators that modulate each other and go through a clock divider and after all that the separate divider outputs are mixed and shaped together”.

It is very suited as a source of snares, hi-hats or as an un-pure noise texture. With anything, we were excited to get on with the build, so we grabbed our BOM, ordered up the parts and waited for everything to arrive.

FRUKU Itora – DIY Build

FRUKU ITORA - DIY Build

As the winter months approach, we find ourselves wanting to build more modules that are unique and serve a purpose. FRUKU as you know is a buddy of ours and like modules previously built, they serve a purpose. One of his latest modules is named Itora which we have no idea what significance that name means, but we had to have it.

The Itora according to FRUKU is a “cascaded” LFO module with four independent unsynced LFO speeds that are all controlled with one knob. Each LFO has a square and triangle wave output and the module features a cv input (with attenuator) for the speed parameters. Sounds rad huh? We thought so too, which is why this module is our most recent build.

FRUKU Glue – DIY Build

FRUKU Glue - DIY Build

FRUKU has some pretty badass modules and one of his latest, Glue is a 4hp compressor module with a lot of grit. Glue is a compressor that has a high pass filter to help clean up any sound tossed through it. The high pass filter is fixed at 20 hrtz.

As for the kit itself, it requires basic soldering knowledge and a fairly steady hand as some of the components are pretty close to one another. With that being said, we didn’t let that sway us away from taking on the FRUKU Glue for our first build of December.

FRUKU Evi – DIY Build

FRUKU Evi - DIY Build

One of our favorite manufacturers, FRUKU is at it again with the release of his Evi module. In only 2HP, the FRUKU Evi is an envelope follower and signal inverter, meaning that you can plug any audio signal into the module and you will output an inverted envelope. What can this do?

Well, it can add some spice to your signal routing and bring some flare to those beats you oh so desire. As one of our first builds of the fall season, the Evi was a perfect module for us to get our hands on. Let’s get on with the build.
