FRUKU Evi - DIY Build

One of our favorite manufacturers, FRUKU is at it again with the release of his Evi module. In only 2HP, the FRUKU Evi is an envelope follower and signal inverter, meaning that you can plug any audio signal into the module and you will output an inverted envelope. What can this do? 

Well, it can add some spice to your signal routing and bring some flare to those beats you oh so desire. As one of our first builds of the fall season, the Evi was a perfect module for us to get our hands on. Let’s get on with the build.

Synthrotek Crossfader (CF) and 2hp Buff Mult - DIY Builds

We all know that you can’t have enough VCA’s in a modular system. The gang over at Synthrotek recently released a new VCA module in their slider series and we had to pick one up. This kit is different from most of the other Synthrotek kits we have assembled in the past, in that it is an SMD kit. With that being said, this module and/or build is not for the novice builder. 

You will want to have a few hours of practice on SMD before jumping into this one. 

The slider series by Synthrotek looks great and along side the other slider modules, the VCA fits right in. As with most SMD builds, we generally use a digital microscope, but on this build we did not. We not only used our normal 60/40 solder but we also used solder paste on some of the build. Let’s get on with the build shall we?

FRUKU Oktra - DIY Build

As the fall season is upon us, we found ourselves going through our backlog of modules and came across the FRUKU Oktra. We have had this kit for some time, and now it was finally time to bring it to life. The Oktra has four independent outputs which can be controlled simultaneously with one knob (Macro Knob).

The four outputs all feature an attenuverter and two output sockets. If you also plug in an external signal, the macro knob is then bypassed and the module will function as a attenuverter/multiple. Sounds fancy eh? Let’s get on with the build shall we?

Landscape.fm AllFlesh - DIY Build and Demo

Every once in awhile a product comes along that is a game changer. While we would like to think some of our products are indeed just that, but we aren’t here to talk about that.

A few months back we visited our dear friend in Portland and happened to stop by one of our favorite shops, Control Voltage. We spent our time tinkering with some modules we had our eyes on and visited with the staff prior to heading out. 

Before heading out though, we noticed they had AllFlesh kits by Landscape.fm for sale. We picked up a kit, thanked the staff and headed out for the day. Months passed and we had nearly forgotten about the AllFlesh kit we had purchased until we were reorganizing the shop and happened to run across them. With the season of giving upon us, we decided to build a kit and give some new life to our modular system.
